Star Wars, the original, iconic space opera trilogy and its more controversial prequels will finally be made available in electronic form starting April 10.
Star Wars (A New Hope), The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi, as well as The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith, will all be in Digital HD, and available globally. You’ll be able to get them on iTunes and Amazon, of course, as well as on other services.

They do say bonus material will vary by retailer but that you’ll be able to purchase them as a collection or separately, and that they’ll work on “across [your] favorite devices anywhere”. Sadly, there’s no reason to hope the original trilogy will be presented in its original, unmolested form. Georgia Lucas, in that regard, shot last.
I’ve bought every version since the original VHS, so why stop now, right? Star Wars on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV is only a few days away!
